Posiblemente los hayan escuchado por ahi, posiblemente hayan escuchado algunos de sus temas, y tambien puede que los conozcan y sean fienes seguidores de una de las mas grandes bandas de música Techno, Daft Punk.
Originalmente miembros de una banda de rock Indie, Thomas Bangalter y Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo son los franceses que no podemos sacar de nuestras listas musicales. Empezaron su movimiento formando un trio con Lawren Brancowitz en una banda de rock Indie llamada Darlin, la cual fue llamada "A buncher of daft punk" (un monton de Punk tonto) por la revista inglesa Melody Maker.
Mas adelante, el duo basandose en ese comentario, en el año 1993 sacaron su primer single
The New Wave bajo el nombre
Daft Punk seguido por su siguiente disoc
Homework con su gran éxito Da Funk.
El 20 de noviembre salió a la venta un disco titulado Discovered: A Collection Of Daft Punk Samples. Este disco es una recopilación de los 12 tracks originales que se samplean para dar origen a los temas del disco Discovery. En el recopilatorio figuran versiones erróneas de los temas "Fate", de Chaka Khan, y "Get down saturday nigh", de Oliver Cheatham; el dúo francés sampleó esos dos temas, pero no de los remixes incluidos en Discovered
